Smyrna Fire Department Chief Brian Marcos joined the department in 2006. Through that time, he has worked his way up through the ranks, eventually being appointed by Mayor and Council to the position of Fire Chief in August of 2022. In 2020, he was named the Chief Fire Officer of the Year by the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs. That same year, he was named one of Cobb Life Magazine’s “20 under 40”, as well as one of the 50 Most Influential Hispanics in Georgia, by the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
