Smyrna Police Major Mark Binicewicz
Advisory Board
Smyrna Police Department Major Mark Binicewicz oversees the department's Administrative Division and the Office of Professional Standards, the department's accountability arm. He is also responsible for the spending and reconciliation of the department’s budget and the daily functions of the Smyrna 911 center. Binicewicz began his career with the Smyrna Police Department in 2002 as a 911 operator, following his honorable service in the United States Navy.

Todd DeFeo is the founder of The DeFeo Groupe, a content marketing firm. He is an author, an avid traveler, photographer and amateur historian. He joined the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation in January 2025.
Rodney Drinkard
Board Member
Rodney Drinkard is currently Vice President of Associate Safety & Asset Protection in Global Security & Asset Protection with oversight of the Asset Protection Team, which manages the physical security and infrastructure technology. Additionally, he oversees workplace violence prevention and an Executive Protection Program. He previously held a variety of roles with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, including intelligence analyst, undercover drug agent and forensic auditor for financial crimes and digital investigations. Rodney received his B.A. in Behavioral Science and Business Administration from Oglethorpe University in 1992 and an MBA in International Business from Mercer University.

Smyrna Fire Chief Brian Marcos
Advisory Board
Smyrna Fire Department Chief Brian Marcos joined the department in 2006. Through that time, he has worked his way up through the ranks, eventually being appointed by Mayor and Council to the position of Fire Chief in August of 2022. In 2020, he was named the Chief Fire Officer of the Year by the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs. That same year, he was named one of Cobb Life Magazine's “20 under 40”, as well as one of the 50 Most Influential Hispanics in Georgia, by the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Smyrna Police Chief Keith Zgonc

Chief Keith Zgonc joined the Smyrna Police Department after serving the City of Sandy Springs from 2006 until 2021. Zgonc began his career in 1991 with the Smyrna Police Department, where he reached the rank of Captain before joining the Sandy Springs force. Chief Zgonc is a graduate of the University of Georgia, the Senior Management Institute for Police, and the FBI National Academy, where he currently sits on the Georgia Chapter Executive Board.
