Pumpkins & Public Safety returns to Smyrna Oct. 10

Pumpkins & Public Safety will return on Saturday, Oct. 10, offering children an afternoon of pumpkin decorating and an up-close look at public safety vehicles, while also collecting winter items for families in need.

The event, sponsored by the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation and The Tillman House, is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. at Smyrna First United Methodist Church, 1915 Concord Road SE. Special guests include representatives from the Smyrna Fire Department and the Smyrna Police Department.

Admission for one child is a new winter item of any size, such as socks, hats, coats or blankets. Each participating child will receive a pumpkin to decorate, a fall snack and drink, and access to the event’s touch-a-truck activities.

Organizers are partnering with The Tillman House to stock its donation closet with winter necessities for local families.

Stay tuned for registration details.
