Three members of the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation’s Board of Directors have been honored with a selection to the Leadership Cobb 2026 class.
SPSF Board President Paul Powers and Board Members Tim Henderson and Rodney Drinkard were selected to join the prestigious group. The trio follows in the footsteps of Smyrna Public Safety Foundation Executive Director Denise Czarnik, who graduated from the 2025 class.
“Participating in Leadership Cobb was a true honor, and the lessons I learned throughout the year will stay with me,” said Czarnik, who was asked to provide the invocation for the graduation ceremony. “I was humbled and grateful to be asked to deliver the invocation at our graduation ceremony, standing alongside classmates, alumni, and community leaders. I know this is an experience that Paul, Tim, and Rodney will cherish. I speak for the entire Smyrna Public Safety Foundation when I say we are proud of them and can’t wait to watch their successes in the program.”
Local leaders founded Leadership Cobb in 1983 as a grassroots effort to identify individuals with the ability to lead a community primed for growth, and all the challenges that accompany it. This leadership development program fosters personal and professional growth for the benefit of the community.
Through participation in a one-year program of structured activity, members become familiar with current issues, community resources and the social, political, and economic needs of the community. Participants leave the program better qualified and more encouraged to take an active role in the decision-making process in Cobb County.
