Shop with a Hero returns Dec. 11
December 11 @ 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
The Smyrna Public Safety Foundation will host its annual Shop with a Hero event on Friday, Dec. 11, 2026, bringing holiday cheer to roughly 100 local elementary school students.
The program pairs children with Smyrna police officers, firefighters and paramedics for a morning of shopping at a Walmart in Austell. Each child receives $250 to purchase clothing, shoes, toys and other necessities. The event also includes a holiday celebration and meals for participating families.
The program, a Smyrna tradition for more than 20 years, is supported by community donations and helps build relationships between local children and first responders.
